One of
the premier vacation spots in the world, Cancun Mexico offers great weather,
beautiful white sand beaches, warm turquoise Caribbean water and the friendly
hospitality of Mexico. Situated at the far south end of the hotel zone,
the Club Regina at Westin Cancun provides a high level in comfort, convenience
and luxury accommodations.
The
Club Regina Resort is located directly next to the adjoining Westin hotel. Guests at Club
Regina share all the facilities of the Westin. Both share common
management. While staying at Club Regina, guests are also afforded the
privileges to use all of the Westin hotel facilities, restaurants, bars and
health club. There are several swimming pools located throughout the resort,
most along the beach and one lagoon side. We were delighted to find the
swimming pools heated on a cool cloudy day. A large underground parking lot sits
underneath the hotel plaza. There are two restaurants available for guests including the
El Palmar and the upper end Arricefes Restaurant.
The villas are one bedroom with two baths and two bedroom with
three baths. There are also hotel room/studios available in a separate
"Premier" building, the large pink one at the far south end of the
resort. Each villa has a mini-kitchen, dining area, living room with a slide out sofa bed and an outside terrace providing a sea
or lagoon view. Each bedroom
contains a king size bed and a large jacuzzi tub. We found the villas to
be very spacious and construction of high quality. The natural wood shutters and
cabinets are a nice touch.
Club
Regina has its own lobby and check-in desk separate from the Westin. A small convenience store is also available
for grocery items. We ate a couple of times in the El Palmar restaurant.
Breakfast buffet was very good, but a little on the expensive side at about $16
per person. Dinner also features a different themed buffet each evening
and as usual, the food was good and well prepared. We are eagerly awaiting our next visit.
