AVALON
GRAND CANCUN
We have recently visited a new resort in Cancun called the Avalon Grand Cancun. The Avalon Grand is located in the hotel zone at about kilometer 12. This is an excellent location, right across the street from the Flamingo Mall which allows you to easily walk to great shopping and several fine restaurants including the Outback Steakhouse, Pat O'Brien's and Planet Hollywood. We toured the resort and were very impressed with the quality of construction and size of the rooms. I am posting several photos we took while there and you can see them below. The Avalon Grand is divided into 2 sections. The front building that faces the street and lagoon is the hotel side where guests can purchase daily rooms or book package deals. There is a courtyard in between the hotel building and the timeshare building, and a fountain and swimming pool is located here. The timeshare building is beach front and all units have an outside terrace with Caribbean view. There are 2 bedroom, one bedroom and studio units, all with mini-kitchens, which although small are quite well equipped. The 2 bedroom units feature a wet bar next to the living room. Some units have a really spectacular dining nook that is circular and surrounded by glass with incredible Caribbean views. There is a large infinity swimming pool that fronts the beach. The beach here is very nice, a decent size with perfect sandy bottom. There is underground valet parking available if you rent a car and of course the buses stop right out front. There is a restaurant and sports bar on site. An all-inclusive option is available for all food and drink for one price if desired.
